Interview with author Jenna Night
Some of my earliest memories involve my parents reading to me and I grew up loving stories. My dad was a bluegrass musician and wrote his own songs. I think at some point those two elements combined in my brain and I thought, ‘hey, I can write my own stories!’
One of the hardest parts is focusing on a story until it’s finished. I have all kinds of ideas all the time, and if I’m not careful I can get distracted by a new story before the one I’m working on is completed. Authors call it ‘chasing plot bunnies,’ and it’s a real thing.
Right now I’m writing lots of Inspirational Romantic Suspense. I enjoy Suspense and Mysteries because they’re so exciting! To me, weaving a faith element into a story that involves danger simply makes sense. When I read secular novels where people are scared and in fear of losing their life or of losing a loved one and they don’t send up a heartfelt prayer, that seems strange to me.
