Interview with Sue
I wrote 11 pages when Daryle first died, then pushed it away and decided that this was an impossible task for me until the Holy Spirit physically told someone to tell me to finish it! So, with His help in all hours of day and night I wrote it in 3 weeks. Then with editing it took 3 years unto completion.
#2. What did you find the most difficult while writing this book? Honestly the most difficult thing was to try to keep myself from becoming personally involved. I know that may sound a bit strange but staying focused on what the Lord wanted me to say and not bringing every emotion and not constantly live this life event over and over again was definitely the hardest thing to do. |
How much God loves them, and is for them, and that of course with God nothing is impossible. No matter where they are in their faith walk the Lord is right there with them. When you “allow” the Lord to comfort you in whatever grief you are facing He is true to His word and will help you. I love Psalm 116:2 “Because He bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath” that struck me as something a good dad would do, and He is a good Father.
#4. How has writing about this particular topic changed your own life? My life is forever changed, I thought I was living the fairytale with no real thought of death, it seemed absurd somehow that either of us would die early. But when reality smacks you in the face you have no choice but to be forced into unwanted change. You can almost hear yourself screaming, “No, no changes!” |
That’s a great question. Originally, I thought only a widow or widower would benefit. As I have found out that is not the case. Many have spoken to me that although they had not lost a spouse their heart and faith were encouraged. Anyone who has suffered grief of any kind will benefit by reading of how God comes along side of them in the midst of it all.

Suzie moved from N. Ireland to America as a child, accepted Jesus at 11, married the preacher’s son at 18, had two children, and a loving marriage for 32 years. Nothing she had experienced prepared her for the devastation she would face. She depended completely on God for comfort and direction. Which led her to begin a widows group, Boston radio show, www.sueborrows.com and www.YouTube.com/WidowsWednesday Suzie now lives in Westport, MA with her husband Bruce. |
