Gunsmoke
Season 7 Vol. 1
Starring
James Arness
Marshal Matt Dillon is in charge of Dodge City, a town in the wild west where people often have no respect for the law. He deals on a daily basis with the problems associated with frontier life: cattle rustling, gunfights, brawls, standover tactics, and land fraud. Such situations call for sound judgement and brave actions: of which Marshal Dillon has plenty. The first Western show aimed at adults, Gunsmoke tackle some pretty tough issues and more often than not there isn't a happy ending. What brings us back over and over? I have no idea, but I am one of the millions that enjoyed and still enjoys, Matt Dillon. Season 7 brings the first hour-long episodes. They are still black/white and would continue to be so for at least another season or 2. Sometimes the acting is corny, the town scenes are filmed on a set, and the Kansas prairie is very evidently the mountains of California. But this enduring show is still just as wonderful as it was 50 years ago. Matt, Kitty, Doc, Chester, are all old friends that bring us back to visit again and again. So saddle up, make sure your Winchester or Colt are close to hand, grab your warm beer (Root Beer that is), and ride out to the smell of GUNSMOKE! 859 minutes | Primary Cast Filming Location(s) California.
