As much as I enjoy documentaries I will admit that Colors Of Character is not my usual choice but I am so glad that I took a chance and stepped out of my norm. It's different from almost every other documentary that I've watched. Not only is it the inspirational story of man who rose above prejudice, beat drug addiction, escaped a brutal gang, and took his amazing art talents to heights he could never have imagined, but he gives all of the praise and glory to God for each step forward.
That was what really captured me about the story of artist Steve Skipper was how he credits God for everything. From the seemingly small things to events that can only be called truly miraculous. In my opinion, a man who can do that is one to be admired.
As far as documentaries go Colors Of Character was well done and I was impressed with the work that went into it. I especially enjoyed the storytelling part of the film. My favorite was Steve Skipper and his straightforward and rather animated way of talking.
If you are looking for a film that for your family to watch together, one that will spark a meaningful conversation, Colors Of Character is the perfect choice. It's both inspirational and faith-filled. And it will encourage you to never give up no matter the circumstances or obstacles you face...
