I've been voting since I turned 18. But I can honestly say that in the nearly 2 decades since then the ever worsening political climate rife with corruption has gotten me discouraged and wondering if there is any hope left for our country. Like pretty much everyone I am well aware of the growing animosity towards faith and Christianity in particular. We are told to put our beliefs in our back pockets and not let it influence how we conduct our business, ourselves, and how we vote. But, not only did this God's Not Dead movie turn that lie right on its head – and a lie it surely is – it also was a good reminder as to why I DO choose to vote.
I found it quite ironic that I watched God's Not Dead: In God We Trust literally right before some of the very tricks used by the 'bad guy' in this film played out in real life right in front of me in the news. As I watched the movie and then real life events unfold I found myself thinking about how important it is to stand up for the truth, for life, for morality, and for our beliefs no matter how strong the opposition is nor how much power they think they have. The title of the film is also a good reminder; He isn't dead and in Him we do trust.
A fun FYI; “In God We Trust” first appeared on the 2¢ coin in 1864 during one of America's darkest times – The Civil War. I have my own 2¢ piece from that year because of just how important that short phrase really is.
For those who wish to know: the film is very well made and is probably one of the best in the franchise. I found myself caught up in the story from start to finish.
Anyway, definitely go out and see God's Not Dead: In God We Trust in theaters. Take your entire family to see it as the message of courage and faith is so important. And, when the time comes in a couple of months do not pass your God given and blood earned right away . Go out and vote. And when you step into that booth pray for God to guide your choices as you prove that God's Not Dead: In God We Trust....
Tell Tale Book Reviews gives God's Not Dead: In God We Trust a 5 Bark rating.
