The Road to Chidarra, is a Christian fantasy novel based in an age when men worshipped at the altar of their cruel masters the gods, and feared the monsters and strange beings who plagued their lands with malice and terror. The cries of the people are heard, and a stranger is sent from afar to guide, protect, and bring peace to the lands. This however, comes at great cost, for the dark powers do not give in so easily, and the struggle for freedom as always, is paved with blood and sacrifice. The inspiration for this book is to plant the seeds of the love, redemption and faithfulness of God in a provocative, entertaining way in a fantasy novel. Many people won’t read the bible or go to church but many will read a fantasy book for entertainment. To show that the spirit realm is real and God and Satan heaven and hell are all real and that the battle for the souls of men are very real.
Hahahaha, longer than it should have because of procrastination but I would say once I got serious about 4 or 5 months for the rough draft. Lots of revisions.
I'm a sci-fi fantasy nut who loves lord of the rings, star trek, comic books Godzilla and so on. So it was a must that for this particular series my imagination was primed to write this genre.
I would say Feneer is at the forefront of my characters but the series is just fleshing out so that is subject to change.
My heart’s desire is that people understand that God is a personal God who cares for the welfare of all men and his creation. That no matter how far you fall, how difficult your circumstances, how many times you fail, he is your redeemer, salvation and provider. All you have to do is ask him and trust him. And repent of your sins. And also as stated that there is more to this world that can be seen and that there are eternal consequences to our actions. Also to enjoy a fantastic ride in a fantasy world that is filled with dragons, wizard’s hero’s villains, demi gods and monsters.
I named some of my characters by looking up names with meanings that match my characters personality or being. Others I got ideas from fantasy name generators.
Something funny and frustrating was me wanting to write a certain storyline and God would prompt me in another direction. I would still try to slyly bypass his directions because I LOVED my storyline, but he was not having it. He would not let it go and my compromise was ended. He knows what’s best, but I admit, that I was hilariously disappointed I couldn’t write what I wanted lol. I got over it quick though. He is lord.
I'm 55 years old, happily married for 12 years with 1 child and 1 stepchild. We are blessed with 4 grandchildren that love the lord. My wife and I love to travel, visit wineries watch movies and explore other states and experience different geography’s and cultures. We are blessed with a small circle of friends, Christian and secular that we can count on and vice versa.
There are many things I wish I could change. But I would have to say, I would listen and be obedient to the Lord every time he warned me about things on multiple occasions and I still was disobedient. My disobedience caused me and others pain that if I could I would take back. So the one thing I wish I could change is my disobedience to the Holy Spirit hands down.
My advice to readers is to give a book a chance. Not to judge a book by its cover and try reading different genres that may not interest you. Start with a small book to get your feet wet. You just may become a fan of a writer, a series and a genre that never once appealed to you.
Oh boy! Here is a thought. We are living in the last days and Jesus is coming sooner than any of us realizes. Every chance we get when the opportunity presents itself my wife and I share the gospel with people because we know the night is coming when no man can work. The signs are all around us but most, especially Christians walk around completely unaware of the hour we are living in. the rapture of the church and tribulation are at our doorstep. Make sure our lamps are full and lit. Our bridegroom cometh! Amen!

Keith Perrin, is a Christian Author who loves to tell biblical truths in an entertaining imaginative way, without compromising the reality of the scriptures, which will inspire people to discover the Bible and The Lord Jesus Christ for themselves. Growing up he watched tons of super hero cartons, Saturday afternoon science fiction and monster movies, plus reading marvel comics. His day dreaming and wild imagination would have him experience all sorts of adventures. Soon he would put those adventures to paper, drawing and writing stories of all sorts. By far his biggest inspiration was reading the bible and bible stories at a young age that drew him closer in his relationship with this awesome God who worked might miracles and showed redemption and forgiveness to the flawed people in those stories. Flawed people just like himself. Keith’s calling is to love God, share the Gospel to all who would hear and use his talents to produce fruit for the Kingdom of God! |
