One of the things that I got a real kick out of was that unlike most fiction with an Alaskan setting the author left Anchorage etc. pretty much out of the story and instead chose to place most of the danger and action in and around Nome, the home of the finish of the Iditarod. Of course, I was also sold on the story because of the fact that it's part of the Alaska K-9 Unit series and, I'll bet you are not surprised, it has dogs in it! Suspense or romance or both, I love a good story with some doggy love in it.
Heather Woodhaven often tends to be a little bit on the grittier side of Love Inspired Suspense, something that I truly enjoy about her books. Arctic Witness was a good example of that and it was a major reason as to why I liked it so much. It was definitely edge-of-your-seat reading for sure!
If you are a romantic suspense fan who also happens to love dog stories may I suggest you check out the Alaska K-9 Unit series, of which Arctic Witness is the 6th book. You can read them standalone or enjoy them in order, just make sure you don't miss out on this one from Heather Woodhaven...
