The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian The four Pevensie children return to Narnia, only to discover that hundreds of years have passed since they ruled there, and the evil King Miraz has taken charge. With the help of a heroic mouse called Reepicheep, and the exiled heir to the throne, Prince Caspian, they set out to overthrow the King, once again with Aslan's help. If you thought the first Chronicles Of Narnia movie (read our review HERE) was the heights of what they could do in filming the well loved children's series then you have another idea coming in Prince Caspian. This movie is bigger, showier, and the special effects are amazing! I will say that this movie is much darker than its predecessor and in some ways was nearly the darkest of the original novels. Aslan actually makes only a couple of smaller appearances and the whole story almost seems hopeless... Almost, but this IS a kids book/movie. If you are expecting the movie to be like the book you will be disappointed. If you are looking for a good action/adventure story that even your teenagers will watch, well this is a good choice. So, grab your popcorn and be prepared to find yourself transported for a couple of hours to a far away land filled with murdering kings, epic battles, fauns and centaurs, dwarves and talking animals, a dead witch, and a prince trying to regain his throne with four 1,300-year-old kids. Note: This movie is rated PG but many of the battle sequences and some other scenes might be disturbing and scare young children. Personally, if I was rating this movie I'd give it a mild PG-13. . 150 minutes | Principal Cast Ben Barnes ... Prince Caspian Georgie Henley ... Lucy Pevensie Skandar Keynes ... Edmund Pevensie: Well, I didn't exactly have a solid gold chess set in Finchley, did I? Lucy Pevensie: I was so tall. Susan Pevensie: You were older then. Lucy Pevensie: Um, sorry. King Miraz: Tell me, Prince Edmund... Edmund Pevensie: King. King Miraz: I beg your pardon. Edmund Pevensie: It's King Edmund, actually. Just King, though. [last lines] Edmund Pevensie: Do you think there's any way we can go back? Edmund Pevensie: [the Pevensies all stare at him] I left my new torch in Narnia. |
