The story is a clean read with no real objectionable content and the seeming silliness of the heroine was slightly reminiscent of some of Jane Austen's characters. I'm going to be honest, my favorite character was not one of the leads but rather the heroine's maid, Pansy. That girl is smart, sassy, and has some real backbone!
I listened to this title as an audiobook and found the production to be pretty average. No serious glitches or anything. The narrator did a fairly good job, her accent was quite good, though I did sometimes wonder if some of her intonations were influencing my opinion of the heroine's immaturity. All of that aside it was a cute story, light, frothy, and easy to listen to, but with a nice little dash of suspense.
Tell Tale Book Reviews gives The Countess Intrigue by Wendy May Andrews a 3.5 Bark rating.
