I started out this story intrigued. I knew it was a re-telling of Swan Lake and Robin Hood. Now, I've only seen the animated movie Swan Lake once but I've loved the tales of Robin Hood since I was little. The Huntress Of Thornbeck Forest IS a re-telling but it's also its own lovely story. Melanie Dickerson is a master at telling the wonderful old fairytales in her own, fresh, new, voice. |

YA fans of all ages will enjoy The Huntress Of Thornbeck Forest. It is more of a character driven story, the reader really gets the chance to know Odette and Jorgen and what makes them tick. But there are still many trademark Melanie Dickerson heart-stopping moments of danger.
I really liked The Huntress Of Thornbeck Forest, from the lovely cover to the last page. And I am definitely looking forward to more of Melanie Dickerson's books. Even before finding out about the storyline I know I will enjoy her books. You can't miss with The Huntress Of Thornbeck Forest or any Melanie Dickerson title.
