The Reliance
Legacy Of The King's Pirates book 2
by M.L. Tyndall
When my publisher called to tell me they wanted to publish The Redemption, which is the first book in the series, they also told me that they wanted two more books to make it a trilogy. Yikes!!! I had not planned on writing a series so I didn't have any story lines in mind. So, I prayed and brainstormed and prayed some more until the story of The Reliance came to me.
6 months. That's the normal time it takes me to write a full length novel if I'm not working outside the home.
Yes, strangely, my favorite character is the villain, Kent Carlson. He's mean, vindictive and causes the hero and heroine a lot of trouble, but there's something touching about him, some spark of humanity lying dormant in his heart. Which is why I wrote the third book in the series about him!
That no matter what happens, no matter the disasters and struggles that come your way, keep trusting God and He will see you through and use everything for your good and His glory.
Hmm, well, since this is a story about pirates in the Caribbean, I didn't have much choice but to locate the story in the Caribbean!
One of my favorite verses in the Bible is a well known one, but it holds such power in so few words.
It is Romans 8:28
"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." That's ALL things, not some things, but everything in our life, even the trials and struggles. There's such peace in that!
