While A Brilliant Christmas may have been a novella I was totally immersed in the story within minutes. And I found myself quite liking the characters, Zoe is sweet and generous, Nigel is a true sensitive but snarky artist trying to recover from his mistakes, Grandma Pauline is a real card, and Marilyn, well Marilyn is Marilyn and I really liked her. |  This Book received a 4.5 Bark rating.

I haven't read any of the other stories in the A Sweet City Hearts series but I have read some of Allie Pleiter's other books and really enjoyed them. Now I definitely want to read the rest of this series. Totally adorable, charming, and with a surprising lesson on sending kindness and decency around because what goes around really does come back around...
