Love's Christmas Journey While mourning the loss of her husband and daughter, recently widowed Ellie King visits her brother Aaron Davis and his children for Christmas. Ellie does her best to enjoy the holidays, making new friends with Mrs. Thompson, a local shop keeper, and handsome admirer Deputy Strode. When Aaron travels out of town to purchase land, Ellie agrees to watch his children, but the season's festivities are threatened when Aaron goes missing. I've been a fan of Janette Oke's books since early childhood when I listened to adaptations on the radio. The movie series has vastly departed from the original books but they have all been good movies in their own right. This one is a totally cheesy and corny Hallmark film. Oscar material this is not. But it IS a decent movie that the family can watch together. I have to say that it's a bit long but the DVD I checked out from the library was conveniently divided into two parts, though we watched it in one sitting. I'm sure you are wondering what I am doing, not only watching, but reviewing a Christmas movie in June. You got me there. Except that I am one of those nutty people that watches Christmas movies in July and desert/summer flicks in January. So if you enjoy mini-series', Christmas movies, Hallmark films, or this series in general, you should at least check out this holiday offering. 240 Minutes - DVD runs 172 Minutes | Principal Cast Natalie Hall...Ellie Davis JoBeth Williams...Mrs. Beatrice Thompson Greg Vaughan...Aaron Dylan Bruce...Michael Bobby Campo...Erik Johnson Charles Shaughnessy...Alex Weaver Sean Astin...Mayor Wayne Ryan Wynott...Christopher Jada Facer...Annabelle Ernest Borgnine...Nicholas Amanda Foreman...Adrienne Filming Location(s) California, USA Awards 2012 Western Heritage Awards Television Feature Film - Larry Levinson (producer) & David S.
