Following her accident at the first triathlon of the season, Tess Prescott’s dreams of the Olympics are shattered, and when her brother volunteers her to work at his friend’s summer camp, she is anything but pleased. Determined to make the best of a bad situation, and to keep herself busy while she recovers, she reluctantly agrees, and ultimately learns the joy of being part of a team.
In the heart of the Rocky Mountains, two people must learn to work together if they have any chance of making it through this season of change—even if it means sacrificing the dreams they once strove so hard to protect. But one unexpected secret could have the power to unravel it all.
Sometimes it's nice to take a break from whatever genre you've been reading lately and just dive into a simple sweet romance. Something uncomplicated that doesn't leave you guessing. Something that you know will have a happy ending once the characters sort out at least some of their baggage and take the time to notice that the other person just might be someone special.
No, I don't tend to a read a lot of such books but I almost always enjoy them when I do. The Glass Road was one such instance. Since I had read the first Prescott Family Romance I was already poised to enjoy this second book in Alyssa Schwarz's series – which is exactly what I did.
The Glass Road was also a fun book to read. The hijinks of the campers were amusing and the battle with a very persistent woodpecker was just plain funny. Heart tugging moments and a romance that slowly builds over the course of a crazy summer rounded out this second Prescott Family Romance quite nicely. As I said, I enjoyed this story and will be looking forward to the next book in this series from Alyssa Schwarz...
