My Review

His final trip will be the most important...

This is it. Either Rembrandt Stone gets it right this time or all will be lost... I've been eagerly anticipating Heart Of Stone since picking up the first True Lies Of Rembrandt Stone book several months ago. Surprisingly, this final book in the series from the combined talent of David James Warren turned out to be my favorite of them all. Honestly, I didn't really expect that in the slightest.

Yes, I was a bit sorry to be saying goodbye to Rem, Eve, Booker, and the others, but I was also excited to finally get answers. For five books Rem has struggled and fought to control the outcome of his life. Each choice just seems to make things spiral even more out of control. But, maybe that's what he needs. To let go and let God. Maybe when he does so things will finally slide into place where they always should have been...

But, as much as this book asks some of the deeper questions of life...it's also entertaining as all get out. There were so many twists and turns in Heart Of Stone that I wondered a time or two if even James Rubart, Susan May Warren, and David Curtis Warren could possibly bring it all around to the ending I wanted and one Rem could live with. I loved seeing all of the various threads from each of Rem's time travel timelines in the previous books finally come together in one, slightly gritty, and riveting conclusion.

The best book in the True Lies Of Rembrandt Stone series, Heart Of Stone is a fitting finale to a thrilling story from the combined expertise and talent of David James Warren. This is one series that you won't want to miss even if time travel is not your usual genre of choice. Just remember, be stalwart....

My Review

Can his life possibly fall apart any farther?

Gee whiz! Rem just can't seem to win for losing! His time travel choices have disintegrated his life almost to the point of being irreparable. But at least now he's trying to make the right decisions in order to put his life, and those closest to him, back together in a positive way...

Blood From A Stone is the fifth book in the True Lies Of Rembrandt Stone and is one of the best. As I've said before, Time Travel is just not my genre but this series has really been an exception for me. The whole question of how important even our tiniest choices are, how they affect others, and just how responsible we are for what happens, is fascinating to explore through fiction. A lot of that existential stuff may be above my pay grade but it's been interesting to watch as Rem's character has changed and grown as he wrestles with those questions.

The combined talent that is David James Warren has really run their main character through the wringer thus far but the ante has been upped exponentially in this book. I kinda surprised myself at how fast I finished Blood From A Stone, I read it all in one day which is definitely quicker than the previous True Lies Of Rembrandt Stone. Maybe it had something to do with the bombshells that just kept dropping on poor Rem.

James Rubart, Susan May Warren, and David Curtis Warren were pretty gutsy to take on writing a story with a single main character but I can tell you that it's been a winning combination so far! And after the cliffhanger at the end of Blood From A Stone I can't wait to read the conclusion to the True Lies Of Rembrandt Stone...

My Review

Will his future be Set In Stone...?

The True Lies Of Rembrandt Stone is back and this time Rem has to handle his new future with few replacement memories to guide him and, even more importantly, without a certain watch that just happens to have time traveling capabilities.

I liked Set In Stone even better than its predecessors as our time traveler hero is finally coming to understand just how much his choices affect everyone around him and that he has a responsibility to those people. Though this is is definitely an entertaining story, it also makes you ponder just how much your own decisions can alter the lives of even people we have not met.

So far I've been pretty impressed with the combined writing power of James Rubart, Susan May Warren, and David Warren, under the name of David James Warren. The three of them have continued to pen stories that are seamless and cohesive, which, is no easy feat to accomplish. Each story builds on top of the previous one and each one ends on a cliffhanger to hook you into the next. Trust me, they are very successful in piquing my interest!

The True Lies Of Rembrandt Stone series is exciting, well written, could easily appeal to women and men alike, and is just plain intriguing. They do need to be read in order so you won't want to miss a single one. The only problem is, now that I've finished Set In Stone, I have to waaaiiit for the next one...

My Review

No matter what, his choices come out wrong...

I've been waiting for this book since first starting The True Lies Of Rembrandt Stone series. I wanted to see Rem's conscience start to wake up and needle him about the choices he's made during his time travels. Finally, Sticks And Stones delivered just that.

Time Travel is not a genre that I usually go to but this series from the super talented combination of James Rubart, Susan May Warren, and David Warren intrigued me and has held my attention through three books. I've been enjoying the suspense/thriller plots as well as trying to guess what new disastrous results of Rem's meddling with history will hit him next. And they will nail him harder each time than the last.

David James Warren brings up some great questions in Sticks And Stone, and the entire series for that matter, from man's mortality to free will versus fate, and whether the things that make up the past happened the way they were supposed to the first time. This book is also a great reminder of how easily even our tiniest choices can affect the people around, for good or for bad. Definitely a lot to ponder...which is not bad for a quick reading time travel story...

My Review

He changed the past, can he handle his new future?

What if you had the power to travel back in time and fix your mistakes? But what if that 'fix' only made things worse? It's a fascinating thought and it's also the lesson that Rem seems bound to repeat over and over in The True Lies Of Rembrandt Stone series. I once heard that even the most introverted person will indirectly affect the lives of 10,000 people in their lifetime and that's one of the things that No Unturned Stone explores. Can the most minute choices change everything? What will the ripple effect be?

David James Warren, who, if you don't already know is the combined talent of 3 of the best authors, Susan May Warren, James Rubart, and David Warren, has done it again in this story. Captured my imagination, intrigued me, entertained me, and caused me to think, at least a little bit, outside of my self absorbed box and wonder how my choices affect those around me.

Heavy stuff? Maybe just a touch. But No Unturned Stone is nothing if not a thought-provoking gritty suspense novel that can appeal to men and women alike. It's got danger, mystery, romance, and hey, it's a time travel novel after all! Oh, and I just have to mention my favorite part, and that's the song drops that pepper, and are part of, the story. They are so much fun! I enjoyed the second book in The True Lies Of Rembrandt Stone and I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series...

My Review

What if you could change your past regrets?

A number of years ago I was scanning the shelves of my local library looking for that blue sticker with the white cross on it that indicated 'Christian', when I stumbled on Rooms by James Rubart. That was one powerful book! It was one of a very very few books with allegorical elements that my concrete mind actually understood. Fast forward a few years and I discover Susan May Warren's Christiansen family. So, when I found out that those two had teamed up with a new author, David Warren, to write a time travel series I was totally onboard. Enter Cast The First Stone which is the first book in the gritty new True Lies Of Rembrandt Stone series.

One thing I should mention is that time travel has never really been my genre, though I've read a few, but the whole idea of the book and the series intrigued me.
