Cozy Mystery
A Dyeing Shame
A Myrtle Clover Mystery book 3
by Elizabeth Spann Craig
-From Goodreads- When Beauty Box beautician Tammy Smith is discovered with a pair of hair shears in her back, there are suspects and secrets aplenty in her small Southern town. Octogenarian Myrtle Clover, bored by bingo and bridge, is intrigued by the crime...and her neighbors' secrets. But discovering, and blabbing, secrets got Tammy killed and Myrtle soon learns her sleuthing isn't just dangerous...it's deadly. ASIN: B00EF2PTDC This old lady doesn't stay home knitting... Myrtle Clover strikes again! And this time she's taking on the town beauty parlor, or to use the more modern term, salon. So chuckle at the amusing title, A Dyeing Shame, and get read for a charming cozy mystery with plenty of gossip, suspects galore and all with a motive, and lots of clues to ferret out alongside the octogenarian amateur sleuth Myrtle, her friend Miles, in spite of her concerned son the police chief! This is only the second Myrtle Clover Mystery, though it's book three, that I've read and I have to say that there are some things that I liked more and some a little less. On the negative side Myrtle herself seemed a little flat and not as much of a fun and spunky character. But oh, on the plus side, I loved the mystery itself so much more! I had so much fun guessing whodunit and why, following the clues, and getting sidetracked a time or two by Elizabeth Spann Craig's red herrings. | This Book received a 4 Bark rating. |
