I was pretty disappointed when they quit making them and thus quite thrilled when I found out that there was now a Father Gilbert book series! I just HAD to read it! Death In The Shadows is book 2 in the series and author Paul McCusker delivers more of the British charm, mystery, and chilling interactions with the spiritual realm that the audio series was known for and book one abounded in. |  This Book received a 4.5 Bark rating.

Dark subjects like murder, suicide, and the sex trade, plus some rather eerie and frightening experiences with demons, and even apparitions of the dead, are nothing new for Father Gilbert. These stories have been known to keep me awake at night and then fall asleep with the light on. Death In The Shadows was no exception. I could hardly bear to put the book down and at just under 300 pages it was a fairly quick, and riveting, read.
I really can't say enough about all of the Father Gilbert stories, especially the books, but I will tell you that Death In The Shadows and its predecessor are definite MUST reads! I absolutely CAN'T wait for a book 3!
