I have to admit that I never really thought much about where and how politicians got their dirt on their opponents. I know the 'business' is cut-throat and dog-eat-dog but What Matters Most opened my eyes to just how sneaky and vicious things can be. And believe me, with 2016 being an election year, we are seeing all this garbage play out on the nightly news.
Kellie Coates Gilbert has such a way of taking stories from the headlines and taking readers behind the scenes, digging deep down into the emotional parts of the story, and making you think. Kellie Coates Gilbert's books will always tug at your heart; I know What Matters Most struck a chord with me because I, too, have seen a beloved family member slip away into dementia.
What Matters Most is also a lovely romance, a Cinderella tale of a sweet and hardworking girl who finds herself in circumstances she could never have imagined, and falling in love with someone totally unexpected. Kellie Coates Gilbert has woven a tale with current implications and of timeless love that is a wonderful conclusion to this truly enjoyable and poignant series.
