Derdeyn is s delightful story that is reminiscent of Emily Rodda's Fairy Realm series with elves, fairies playing with butterflies, talking animals, the Firebird, and a young girl with an important quest. Bethany, herself, made a wonderful heroine. She reminded me of every girl that I've known at that age, sweet, a little impatient, smart, curious, sometimes a bit naïve, and ultimately a girl brave when it counts the most. |  This Book received a 4 Bark rating

Even as an adult I enjoyed Bethany's Tale and kept thinking what a perfect book it would be for reading to a child at bedtime. R.A. Derdeyn has a lovely fantasy story in Bethany's Tale and I hope it will soon have a sequel.
