Yes, Austin Ford who is the youngest son in the Ford Family. The three older siblings have moved on to different ventures in their lives, and Austin is left to take the responsibility of the ranch on his own. He’s well mannered and loves his family, but at the same time, his goals for the ranch go in a different direction than his father’s. When Austin first meets the heroine in the story, she screams and then faints. He can’t imagine what she might have against him as he’s never met her before in his life.
In the story, the heroine is a veterinarian. Her clinic is ransacked one night with warning signs that she needs to leave town. In the midst of the sad situation Austin sticks by Willow’s side as they attempt to find the identity of the person who tried to destroy her business.
I would like to have become a Christian at a younger age. I was blessed to find the Lord in my mid-thirties, yet before that time I had plenty of opportunities to make bad choices. I had no guidance from the Lord and His Word. Though I can’t change the past, the Lord can use all things for His glory, even life before Him.
Never say you are too old to do something for the Lord. I began writing at age 65 and am still writing today.
Actually, the entire series was inspired by my father’s sheep ranch in western Texas. Though I left there as a child when my mother divorced my father, I still have memories of ranch life: the barns, the pastures, the sheep pens, the ranch houses, and the ranch hands.
