A Hickory Ridge Romance book 3
by Dorothy Love
-From the back cover- ETHAN AND SOPHIE LONG TO SHARE A FUTURE TOGETHER. BUT THE SECRETS THEY'RE NOT SHARING COULD TEAR THEM APART. Sophie Caldwell has returned to Hickory Ridge, Tennessee, after years away. Despite the heartaches of her childhood, Sophie is determined to make a home, and a name for herself in the growing town. A gifted writer, she plans to resurrect the local paper that so enchanted her as a girl. Ethan Heyward's idyllic childhood was shattered by a tragedy he has spent years trying to forget. An accomplished businessman and architect, he has built a majestic resort in the mountains above Hickory Ridge, drawing wealthy tourists from all over the country. When Sophie interviews Ethan for the paper, he is impressed with her intelligence and astounded by her beauty. She's equally intrigued but fears he will reject her if he learns about her shadowed past. Just as she summons the courage to tell him, Ethan's own past unexpectedly and violently catches up with him, threatening not only his life but their budding romance. A delightful historical romance with a touch of danger and mystery. Sophie had a rough childhood but was taken by a wonderful and loving family. Now she has moved back to town and is fighting to build her fledgling newspaper business. She will fight for the downtrodden and tell the truth in her paper but some people don't like it and will do almost anything to stop her. Ethan has come to town to make Blue Smoke into a thriving resort. Dealing with unruly workers and a manipulating and petty boss isn't making that task very easy. He is a good man, though, and is determined to make Blue Smoke a success as well as doing what he can to help a certain newspaperwoman. Both of them have secrets that come back to haunt them. Will they manage to find out the truth, forgive where needed, and find love together? And another important question is; can they survive long enough? | . . . This Book earned a 4 Bark rating. . . . Readers of Every Perfect Gift will enjoy a pleasant evening with a good story. The characters are interesting and you will find yourself rooting for the good ones and hoping the not-so-nice ones get their comeuppance. The setting is well described and in many scenes I felt like I was right there with the characters and seeing what they saw.
