Robin Hood
(Disney Animated)
An imaginative Disney version of the Robin Hood legend. Fun and romance abound as the swashbuckling hero of Sherwood Forest and his valiant sidekick plot one daring adventure after another to outwit the greedy prince and his partner as they put the tax squeeze on the poor.
Disney's animated version of Robin Hood is probably my all-time favorite animated Disney film, although Tangled is pretty close in there. Most people close to me or that read this blog will know that I've never been a fan of animated films...BUT... I loved this movie as a little kid and I still love it as an adult. Who wouldn't go for forest animals singing such catchy tunes as 'The Phony King of England' and who of us as kids didn't howl at the lines
"Ah! But while there is a merry man
in Robin's wily pack We'll find a way to make him pay And steal our money back The minute before he knows we're there Ol' Rob'll snatch his underwear"
The animation isn't bad and many adults will recognize the voices of people such as 'Goober' from The Andy Griffith Show, 'Festus' from Gunsmoke, 'Mr. Haney' from Green Acres, and several others from various places....
If you are looking for a light, fun, and even nostalgic, movie to watch with the kiddies, give the rollicking good fun of Robin Hood a shot.

Quotes
Alan-A-Dale: Oh, incidentally, I'm Alan-A-Dale, a minstrel. That's an old time folk singer. My job is to tell it like it is, or was, or whatever.
Little John: You know somethin', Robin. I was just wonderin', are we good guys or bad guys? You know, I mean, uh? Our robbin' the rich to feed the poor. Robin Hood: Rob? Tsk tsk tsk. That's a naughty word. We never rob. We just sort of borrow a bit from those who can afford it. Little John: Borrow? Boy, are we in debt. Sheriff of Nottingham: Wait a minute. Is the safety on Old Betsy? Trigger: [tapping the side of the crossbow] You bet it is, Sheriff. Sheriff of Nottingham: That's what I'm afraid of. You go first. Friar Tuck: Praise the Lord, and pass the tax rebate!' King Richard: Oh, Friar Tuck. It appears that I now have an outlaw for an in-law. |
