Hearts In Hot Springs
Seven Brides Of South Dakota book 6
by Kari Trumbo
-From Goodreads- Nora Arnsby fights her way into a world dominated by men. When a break-in shatters the sense of home she's created, Nora can’t find her footing. With the intruders growing bolder and her safety at risk, she reaches out to the only person who will listen, even if it means asking a man for help. The stranger across the street is handsome and persistently kind, so different from other men. Mathias Horton refuses to let any woman get close to him. Nursing a broken heart and equally shattered dreams, he wants to avoid the new hat maker. However, he can't stand to see anyone in need - especially this one. Her spirit, determination, and bright blue eyes compel him to do what he can to help her…protect her. But the more time he spends with her, the more he begins to care. Mathias must resume the life he gave up to save the one who ignites his battered heart, or admit defeat and let her go back to Deadwood. ASIN: B088P7LS14 She's stubborn. He's determined. And sparks fly! | This Book received a 4 Bark rating. |
Nora and Mathias drive each other crazy and me as well sometimes. Nora stubbornly believes that every offer of assistance is an insult to her independence and capability. Mathias stubbornly believes that no matter how much she proves herself Nora will eventually up and leave him. If any two characters deserve each other it's these two. And I say that with an amused chuckle.
This audiobook has a different narrator from the previous books and I'm still deciding how I feel about that. She does a good job of allowing the emotion of the story into her voice and she reads it well. However, her voice is, in my opinion, a trifle mature for such a young heroine. Still, I enjoyed listening to the audiobook and I wouldn't hesitate to tell you to read or listen to it if you enjoy western historical romance with a message of faith and hope.
