Interview with Lisa Harris about her new release
Taken
With Paris for a setting, I knew I needed something fast paced through the city and I wanted to highlight certain Paris sites. So searching for a missing niece became the perfect fast-paced story. And Kate, who was actually a secondary character in my last LIS, Deadly Safari, became the perfect heroine for this book!
It took about three months to write and then of course there were lots of edits!
I really love Kate. She’s vulnerable, yet strong and willing to take a chance with her heart. She’s worried about her missing niece and desperate to find her, but grows throughout the story when faced with some of the toughest circumstances she’ll ever have to deal with.
#4. What do you hope your readers will take away with them when they read this book? Like most authors, I want people to be swept away from their ordinary lives when they read this book and to find a story that takes them on a journey where the suspense keeps them on the edge of their seat, the romance tugs at their heart, and in the end, justice is served. On a more personal level, I want them to never forget that the God who created the universe loves us and wants to be our strength. He came to heal the empty and broken hearted, and those searching for freedom and hope. |
Paris is one of my favorite cities in the world, so when offered the chance to write stories set overseas I jumped at the chance. Hopefully, I’ve made Paris come alive for my readers!
I spend a lot of time looking at baby name sites and social security sites with the top names for certain years. To be honest, I usually just play around with names until a light goes off in my head and I know it’s right! In fact, I find it hard to actually start writing until I have the names. It’s fun choosing names, and discovering that perfect combination.
Bonus. Share with us a thought, Bible verse, whatever is on your mind/heart.
This year, I’ve really tried to keep focused on not what is seen, but the unseen. Paul said in II Cor. 4:17-18.
“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
