Mount Rainier is a familiar name but not a place that I know much about. I know that even today the climb can be treacherous but I'll admit that I haven't thought very much about those early climbers who risked life and limb with little to no decent equipment and no communication devices. In A View Most Glorious not only do we get a front row view of one of the first fictional women to climb Mount Ranier but we are also treated to the battle for women's right to vote and the somewhat lesser known economic depression that resulted from the 1893 Silver Panic. I love learning new things about history so it was fascinating to read about the effects on Tacoma, WA and the surrounding area.
Regina Scott did a wonderful job with the conclusion to her American Wonders Collection series and I'm sorry to see it end. I liked the characters a great deal and loved the dash of suspense that the author put them through. I was entertained, intrigued, and simply enjoyed the journey that the story takes.
You can read any of Regina Scott's lively and picturesque American Wonders Collection novels as standalone but you won't want to miss any of them, including A View Most Glorious. So, check out this book, this series, and this author...they are all well worth your time...
