All For A Sister
by Allison Pittman
-From the back cover- In Hollywood during the Roaring Twenties, Celeste DuFrane has it all. Her father's work with color movie film opens doors that lead to the stardom she's always aspired to. But after losing her mother, she discovers that half the estate has been left to a woman accused of killing Celeste's infant sister before Celeste was even born. Dana Lundgren arrives at the DuFrane mansion having spent most of her life imprisoned for a crime that never happened. After accusing Dana of murder so many years ago, why did Madame DuFrane leave her a sizeable inheritance? As Celeste and Dana learn each other's stories, they face more questions than answers. Then a surprising discovery begins to fill in the missing pieces: Marguerite DuFrane's written confession, penned shortly before her death. Uncovering the treachery and deceit that changed the course if numerous lives – most of all their own – the two women find more than they ever imagined. Another wonderful story from Allison Pittman! It was reading a blurb online that caught my interest and made me want to read All For A Sister. When my copy finally arrived I had to put it aside so I could work on other books in my to-read stack, but I kept going back and looking at it, it kept whispering to me, and somehow it just 'magically' made its way to the top of said stack. | This Book earned a 4 Bark rating. |
I do have to admit that the viewpoint changes for each chapter were a little confusing at first but it didn't take me long to get pulled into the story and then I hardly noticed. As I read I really did have a hard time putting the book down, Allison Pittman grabs her readers and keeps them. Even when I was doing other things I still thought about the story, what had already occurred and what might happen next.
Allison Pittman has penned another historical winner in All For A Sister, don't miss it!
