Every time I read a Susan May Warren book I find a piece of myself, some part of my personality or even fears, in the characters on the page. Always On My Mind was no exception.
I will admit that, for me, it was a little hard to connect with Casper sometimes. On the other hand, he reminded me of people I know. I waffled back and forth with Raina, from cheering her on to wanting to shake some sense into her. It just goes to show talented of an author that Susan May Warren is, to not only engage my imagination but also my emotions and thoughts.
I loved the parallel historical thread that ran through Always On My Mind. Susan May Warren seamlessly wove it into the fabric of the story and I never felt like it didn't fit or that it distracted from the rest of the book. It enhanced the story and I really enjoyed discovering the past along with Raina and Casper.
Always On My Mind was an enjoyable contemporary romance and I look forward to reading the next Christiansen sibling's story. Susan May Warren has me hooked on this flawed but loving family of faith.
