Covert Danger was everything I've quickly come to expect from Jerusha Agen and did not disappoint in the slightest. Gritty, intense, and with more twists and turns than a game of Chutes and Ladders, I really was kept glued to the page from start to finish. That assassin and his skills, wow!
One of the things that I loved about Covert Danger was the way Jerusha Agen portrayed her heroine, Amalia. Scarred and jaded by her years as a CIA agent she can't afford to let anyone inside her emotional barriers and day by day she has to try to come to terms with what she has seen and the things she has done. Amalia just seemed to come across as real to me. Michael was one of those rare heroes that I positively disliked throughout most of the story, it was only near the end that he begins to realize what his obsession has cost everyone around him that I began to grudgingly like him after all.
Guardian Unleashed is nothing if not exciting. It is a series that has proven to be intriguing – romantic suspense that borders on thriller status. I have enjoyed every bit of it so far and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone who likes their Christian romantic suspense a touch on the grittier side. Plus, there are dogs...need I say more? As you may have surmised, nevermind that Covert Danger has just released, I CAN'T wait for the next book in Jerusha Agen's Guardians Unleashed series...
