Finding Lady Enderly
by Joanna Davidson Politano
-From Goodreads- Raina Bretton is a rag woman in London's east end when a handsome stranger appears in a dank alley and offers her a glittering smile and a chance for adventure. Rothburne Abbey has a unique position for her, one that will take her away from her hardscrabble life and give her a chance to be a lady. Things she could only dream of might be coming true. But some dreams turn out to be nightmares. Though Raina has traded squalor for silk and satin, something about the abbey is deeply unsettling. As she wrestles with her true identity, the ruin, decay, and secrets she finds at the heart of the old mansion tear at her confidence and threaten to reveal her for who she really is. Only one man stands between her and the danger that lurks within--and only if he decides to keep her biggest secret hidden. ISBN-13: 9780800728724 Will deception be her undoing? I've had Finding Lady Enderly on my shelf for quite awhile now, probably too long, but I've been waiting until I had the time to sit down and properly savor it like this book should be. There is one thing you know for sure when you pick up a Joanna Davidson Politano book, not only will you be entertained by the Gothic romance elements, but you will also be challenged by the truths within the pages. | This Book received a 4.5 Bark rating. |
Finding Lady Enderly is another lovely novel filled with period atmosphere from a wonderful author. Joanna Davdison Politano brings her Victorian characters to life in full vivid color. She expertly draws her readers into the era and into the lives of those characters. Characters who each have their own motives and agenda, not always doing or even being what you expect them to.
An amazing story, Finding Lady Enderly is a must read for fans of historical fiction. The depth of storytelling belies the relatively recent debut of the author. Joanna Davidson Politano is a master of her craft. I will close with another of my favorite quotes, “People are often afraid to truly look into the heart of who they are, because those inner rooms echo so loudly with one lonely question: Am I enough?”
Tell Tale Book Reviews gives Finding Lady Enderly by Joanna Davidson Politano a 4.5 Bark rating.
