Her Darkest Secret was everything I had anticipated! Serial killer stories are one of my favorite, don't ask me why because I have no clue, suspense story plots so, of course, this book was right up my alley, probably a dark alley in a seedy part of town but....Anyway...Pretty quickly after diving in I discovered that there were plenty of romantic sparks between the two leads, despite their failed marriage, but Her Darkest Secret was way more psychological thriller-ish in nature and less romantic suspense. And, boy did Jessica R. Patch lead her characters and me on one chilling chase!
I had my own ideas about the killer's identity, and I was partly right, but I had no inkling whatsoever that the final showdown would play out the way it did. Talk about edge of your seat reading! Jessica R. Patch is so good, in fact, that Her Darkest Secret is one of those books that when you finish it you leave the hall light on and find yourself checking behind doors and furniture where a serial killer might hide...
I've read a couple of the longer Love Inspired novels and I'm definitely a fan. It's so much fun to see authors like Jessica R. Patch get the chance to expand and provide even more spine-tingling reading fun. If you haven't checked out any of these Love Inspired books take my recommendation and start with Her Darkest Secret...Just remember your nightlight tonight...
