Made To Last
Where Love Begins book 1
by Melissa Tagg
-From the back cover- M iranda Woodruff has it all. At least, that's how it looks when she's starring in her homebuilding television show, From The Ground Up. So when her network begins to talk about making cuts, she'll do anything to boost ratings and save her show – even if means pretending to be married to a man who's definitely not the fiancé who ran out on her three years. When a handsome reporter starts shadowing Miranda's every move, all his digging into her personal life brings him a little too close to the truth – and to her. Can the girl whose entire identity is wrapped up in her on-screen persona finally find the nerve to set the record straight? And if she does, will the life she's built come crashing down just as she's found a love to last? Can Made To Last REALLY be Melissa Tagg's debut? It's hard to believe this is her first published book! The first few chapters were a little slow but after that the story took off and took me with it. This was a totally new premise for a Christian fiction book. The whole story, and Randi's public life, is based on a lie. Who would have thought? I mean I have read stories where the couple pretends to be courting but never one where the hero is starting to fall for a girl he thinks is already married! The idea was new and fun to read. When Randi winds up with three, yes three, very different men at her house I began to wonder how many more plot twists to expect and just which one would she choose? | . . One of the things I like about this book was the portrayal of Randi's faith. She is neither a practicing Christian nor a non-Christian but rather a girl that has let choices and circumstances draw her away from what she knows is the truth. It's a slow winding path through lies and hurt that takes her to a small church at odd hours when no one is there.
A true romantic comedy this book is a fun read and leaves you excitedly waiting for the next book in the series. You never know, this book might even inspire you to try a few projects around the house, you know, like the new bookshelf you absolutely need.
Tell Tale Book Reviews gives Made To Last by Melissa Tagg a 4 Bark rating.
