Spiritual Suspense
Stranger Things
by Erin Healy
-From the back cover- IN THE BURNT-OUT HOLLOW, A HOUSE OF DARK SECRETS AND EERIE BEAUTY BECKON. THERE, A STRANGER DIES TO SAVE SERENA'S LIFE. Serena Diaz's life is imploding. A troubled student has accused the young biology teacher of sexual misconduct, cutting off her promising career just as it was starting to blossom. But that's just the beginning of Serena's problems. When a therapeutic walk in the woods leads her to a ruined house overtaken by criminals, Serena is assaulted and finds herself witness to the senseless murder of the one man who tries to help her. Hurled into a world of false accusations and hounded by the press, Serena must confront evil itself to unravel the mysterious visions – and terrifying danger – that pursue her. But she can't ignore the most haunting question: Why would a mysterious stranger give his life to save hers? The answer, if she can find it, will point the way to her freedom from evil men in a lascivious trade. They say to believe only what you can see, but sometimes what you see isn't, sometimes it has been or will be, and sometimes you don't see what is really there..... Stranger Things is a soul-stirring and heart-wrenching book. By the time you have finished the book you will feel like your emotions have been run through the wringer and yet you will feel inspired – hopeful that all is not lost and inspired to do what you can. | . A few times the switch between viewpoints caught me off guard and I had to go back a few sentences to figure things out. Once I got into the swing of things the story was gripping and difficult to put down.
Imaginative and unexpected, Stranger Things is a powerful and thought provoking book. Long after the last page has been turned the reader will find themselves thinking back to a line or a scene.
Tell Tale Book Reviews gives Stranger Things by Erin Healy a 4.5 Bark rating.
Note: I would recommend this book for adults and older teenagers because of the subject matter of the story.
