A story of the three days Jesus did not spend in the tomb. The Son of Man was made sin, cast away from the presence of the Great I AM’s presence, and condemned to Hades to face judgement. What exactly happened during those three days from the Lord’s lifeless body of flesh being placed in the tomb and His glorious resurrection? Hints throughout the Scriptures give clues to what transpired—how He got to Paradise to be with the thief on the cross that same day. One thing is certain! He rose on the third day and now lives forever more seated on His throne at the right hand of the Father! Hallelujah! JUDGEMENT Celebrate Lit Blog Tour and inviting me to visit with you!
Both my husband and I love it when Holy Spirit makes something in a Scripture standout to us as though the first time we read it, though we know we’ve read it many times before. I’m sure that happens to everyone as it’s one way God speaks to us—through His Word!
So then we start digging in and find other verses to support this “new” revelation. Several years ago, it was in Ephesians fourth chapter when the Word says,
We started it the first of December 2021 and wrote four days on it, me getting sicker day by day. Ron treated me for allergies, but then eventually, he got sick, too. I felt as bad as I ever have. Our son finally insisted we go get tested, and we both tested positive for covid. The devil did not want us to write this book.
We did not go to the hospital even when we thought I might die—since they get $30K if you die there! I told him if God wanted to take me, I’d rather go from my own bed--in the home I love. He got the monoclonal antibodies infusion and felt better on the way home—it was too late for me. We both recovered—God wasn’t finished with us yet—praise Him!
We picked it back up on January 9th and completed it six days later on January 15th, so not counting research time, we wrote it in eleven days. As I mentioned above, we’ve been thinking on writing this for years, but only now saw a way to tell the story without getting into God’s point of view—seeing and writing from His Holy perspective.
Years ago, Ron read DAVID AND BATHSHEBA and so enjoyed it, passed it to me to read. The famous couple became real, living and breathing people to me. When I started independently publishing (after ten traditionally published titles, the tenth from Simon and Schuster), I wanted to bring other Biblical characters to life for my readers. The research, studying the Living Word is the best and most enjoyable of all!
One ARC reader told me she was covered with goose bumps (I call them glory bumps) when she finished the book, that she’d never read one like it before. She said it made her see God as so much more than before and it touched her deeply. That’s exactly what I’m going for! I pray that all my stories will bring my readers closer to our Creator!
Well, I am completely comfortable with all that, trusting that God has directed my path, BUT . . . you said, ‘IF’, so what I would change if I got to choose was to have grown up in Clarksville instead of Big D. We moved to the country here in Northeast Texas in March of 2008, and we so love it!
When I meet ladies (we play bridge with them) who are eighty-nine years old who’ve grown up together since the first grade . . . I regret not growing up here. But I don’t, too, because I know God knows best, and He had me in Dallas County as long as he needed me there. I’m so grateful for the last fourteen years living in the woods five mile south of Clarksville at The Peaceable, my name for our home.
Blessings to you and your readers!
More from Caryl
Anyway, we have been talking about writing this book for years, coming across little clues for the story in Scripture studies now and again over that time. At last, God released us to write THEN JUDGEMENT based on the twenty-seventh verse of Hebrews, ninth chapter:
Creating Biblical fiction tales carries a lot of responsibility that I truly enjoy taking on, being a guardian of the Truth. I love to bring characters from those days gone by so long ago to life on the pages of my books! I do feel a bit like John when he said this, writing of our Savior.
I pray you will enjoy living through the three days that Jesus did not spend in the tomb! May my story cause you to dig a little yourself, checking out our theory! I know this to be Truth:
As always, I’m ‘Praying my story gives God glory!’
Blessings, y’all!
