My Review
The Maker's call isn't always an easy one...
The stakes have never been higher for Carya and Brantley. This time they have the world to save and everything to lose. Sharon Hinck has upped her game making Windward Shore, the exciting conclusion to her Dancing Realms series, even more tense and fun to read.
I generally speaking avoided fantasy for years, and other than a few select books just never seemed to get into the genre. But a few years ago I found a series that changed my mind and because of that I've discovered some very talented authors like Sharon Hinck and their amazing stories. Seriously, The Dancing Realms series is exactly what fantasy is supposed to be, what it's MEANT to be! And I'm just sorry that with Windward Shore I am now saying goodbye to some very dear friends that I've come to love over the course of three books.
Windward Shore is a very entertaining read, it engrosses the reader and keeps them invested in what happens to the characters. But, there's a lot more to the story. Life and spiritual lessons are well woven into the patterns of story. Sharon Hinck is a master at her craft and it shows in this book and in the rest of The Dancing Realms novels. She uplifts and encourages readers while successfully telling some pretty wonderful stories.
I can say without hesitation that I would heartily recommend Windward Shore and the rest of the Dancing Realms series to YA and adult readers alike. Whether fantasy is your cup of tea or not Sharon Hinck is an author you definitely won't want to miss...

| Q: In the Dancing Realms series, the Maker has given dancers a special gift to serve their world. Why did you choose dance as a means for bringing provision or protection? A: I was a dancer and choreographer for many years before becoming a writer. Dance is a means of communicating with the whole being—heart, mind, and body. So dance became a beautiful way for Carya to connect with her Maker and serve her world. Q: What other interests shaped the series? A: I’ve been studying cults and how people become trapped in lies, and more importantly, how they find freedom. So that concept helped me create the various traps that characters faced in all three books. Q: What is a key theme in Windward Shore? A: Although I write “Stories for the hero in all of us,” I recognize that we can’t always be the hero—at least not in our power. Our determination alone isn’t enough. Our Maker calls us to dependence on Him, and often He asks us to lean on others as well. That’s a key challenge that Carya faces in Windward Shore. |  |
