by Lisa Harris, Lynne Gentry, Elizabeth Goddard, Robin Patchen, Lisa Phillips, Lynnette Bonner, Jan Thompson, Luana Ehrlich, D.L. Wood
-From Goodreads- Lives...and hearts...are on the line in eight brand-new Christian Romantic Suspense novels from the genre’s most explosive authors. ISBN-13: 9781942982142 8 heroines find danger & love in this boxed set... Lethal Outbreak by Lisa Harris & Lynne Gentry: Oh, boy! What a tale to start of the collection! You can't beat this author combination and their story is dynamite! It was especially eerie when you stop to think that it was released during a real pandemic. I really enjoyed all of the fascinating details about how viruses are tested etc. And the settings? WOW! | This Book received a 4.5 Bark rating. |
Missing art, a long ago murder, betrayal, and missing memories? Yes, this story in the collection has all of that and more. Aside from the ties to history, I think my favorite aspect of this one was the to-die-for settings, the Washington coast, Montana, and Alaska all provide a backdrop for this suspenseful tale.
Glimmer in the Darkness by Robin Patchen:
Yikes! What a story! It's the first one that I've read by this author and after this one I fully plan on reading more. The story was tense, and sometimes intense, and kept me glued to my Kindle. I had a lot of fun trying to guess who the villain was and wanted to yell “HAH!” when I was proved right.
Expired Plot by Lisa Phillips:
Betrayal. If I were going to pick one single word to summarize this story in the collection that would be the one. This story is dark, it's gritty, but the faith message shines strongly through it all. I really enjoyed the non-stereotypical hero and heroine, they aren't perfect and they don't have it all together.
Ice by Lynnette Bonner:
Wow! When I started this book in the collection I had no clue what I was in for. This isn't just your usual bystander witnesses a murder story. No, the threads of danger and suspense lead in the most unexpected directions. And the mystery villain's identity? Well, I admit that I hadn't seen it coming.
Never A Traitor by Jan Thompson:
While it's not the strongest story in the collection it does have some of the most interesting settings including Tybee Island in Georgia and a resort in the Bahamas. The identification of the mastermind and the final showdown were a bit intense and kept me glued to my Kindle. Can anyone say sharks?
Ben in Love by Luana Ehrlich:
This is only the second book that I've read by this author and I have to say that it's the one that I enjoyed the most. It's the only one with a first person POV, which was done quite well, making it stand out and also adding interesting twist to the suspense/thriller angles of the story.
Liar Like Her by D.L. Wood:
New to me author but I think this book has to be one of my top favorites in the collection! The characters are flawed and have made some serious mistakes in the past but they stand strong anyway. I enjoyed the uniqueness of the mystery and the charming small-town coastal Florida setting.
