Mrs. Pollifax - Spy
Starring
Rosalind Russell • Darren McGavin
Mrs. Emily Pollifax of New Jersey goes to the CIA to volunteer for spy duty, being in her own opinion, expendable now that the children are grown and she's widowed. And being just what the department needed (someone who looks and acts completely unlike a spy), she's assigned to simple courier duty to pick up a book in Mexico City. But when the pickup doesn't go as plan, Mrs. Pollifax finds herself handcuffed to a handsome stranger on a plane bound for an Albania prison. And it's up to her to get them out. A fun spy-spoof! This movie is a fun and funny spy story with enough grit to keep the story moving. I haven't read the book that the movie was based on so I can't really compare them or the actor's portrayals of the characters. What I can say is that in this, Rosalind Russell's final movie, she did an excellent job! She is practical but optimistic, and this widow must save the day! Darren McGavin provides the other half of this crazy duo. He does a great job in this roll as the pessimistic and very real spy. So, grab some popcorn and head out on a fun and danger-filled adventure in Mexico City and Albania! 110 Minutes | Principal Cast Rosalind Russell ... Mrs. Pollifax Darren McGavin ...
