Dance Over Me (The Wardrobe Dinner Theater #1) by Candee Fick

Excerpt
“Forgot what?”
“This guy stopped by the theater after the cast meeting and wanted to talk to Mr. Sheridan.”
“Then why didn’t he? Oh, we were having our big family reunion in the lobby.”
“Exactly. You all were busy, so I took his card and told him I’d pass along the message.”
“What message?” Dani reached around her for the card and eyed the photo on the front. “Cute guy.”
Liz snatched the card back. “Watch out, or I’ll tell Alex you said that.” She eyed the picture herself and remembered the man’s broad shoulders and the sculpted legs in his jeans. The crinkle of humor around his eyes. The sense of stability that made her want to…
“Earth to Liz.” Dani snapped her fingers in front of Liz’s nose. “What message?”
Liz blinked. “Funny you should be talking about cameras a minute ago. He’s a photographer and wants to talk about taking group shots of the guests for Christmas cards or something.”
“Hmm. Well, if you ask me, if anyone takes pictures at the Wardrobe, it should be you.”
A sense of joy flickered near Liz’s heart. “That’s what I thought.”
“So why aren’t you?”
“Because I gave up photography for acting.” And permanently alienated herself from her family in the process.
“Why can’t you have both?”
The spark of hope grew in her chest, and she tapped the business card against her hand. “I never thought it was a possibility.”
“So is this guy any good, or does he just have a business card?”
Liz reached under the bed for her laptop and turned it on. “He has a website listed, so he might have a portfolio online. We’d better check him out and save Mr. Sheridan the hassle.”
“Sure.” Dani whacked her with a pillow. “Check him out or check out his work?”
Heat rose in her face. Curse her pale complexion. “Both?” Except, after Jerry the Jerk, the last thing she needed was to date another photographer.
